Mode Of Action
Galigan is a herbicide of the diphenyl-ether group used for selective weed control in a wide range of fruit trees, vegetables, field crops, ornamentals, forestry, sugarcane and non-crop areas. It controls a wide spectrum of annual broadleaf and grass weeds.
It is used in pre-plant, pre-emergence and post-emergence applications in bulb crops like onion field crops. It has prolonged residual activity and shows negligible leaching. Minimal rain or irrigation is necessary to activate the residual effect.
It is available in the pack sizes of 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 L and 5 L.
How to use:
– APPLES, GRAPES, KIWIFRUIT, STONE FRUIT: for residual weed control use 6 L/Ha and apply when the crop plants are dormant. If there are annual or perennial weeds at application, add POLARIS (POLARIS 360, POLARIS 450 or POLARIS ACCELERATE) plus wetting agent at the recommended rate for the weeds present. Maintain an uninterrupted layer of chemicals on the soil surface. If weed growth is more than a few cms tall it may be better to treat with a knockdown herbicide before GALIGAN is applied as effectiveness may be reduced by excess growth or trash;
– For post-emergent weed control use 2-3 liters of GALIGAN per hectare in tank mixture with POLARIS plus a wetting agent;
– Use the 3 L/Ha rate for creeping mallow and weeds taller than 25cm;
– For Spot Application using a handgun or knapsack apply 300 ml/100 liters GALIGAN plus POLARIS at the rate recommended for the weeds present;
– For pine and Cupressus species use 2-4 L/Ha;
– For Eucalyptus and Racosperma (Acacia or wattle) species use 0.5-1.0 L/Ha;
– Sprayer clean-up: flush sprayer with several rinses of clean water after each use in order to avoid injury;
– Plant back: When used at low rates there should be no problem with the germination of following crops following cultivation or direct drilling of pasture or brassicas;
– Do not use as a stale seedbed additive to glyphosate in vegetable growing unless prior knowledge suggests otherwise.
