AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Procaine Penicillin G + Benzathine Penicillin Injection. Procaine penicillin G + benzathine is narrow spectrum penicillin with a bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, such as Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Listeria, Passionflower, Pasticelle, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus

It is used to treat arthritis, mastitis, gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by penicillin-sensitive microorganisms in calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and pigs. After intramuscular administration within 1 to 2 hours, therapeutic blood concentrations are obtained. Due to the slow reabsorption of benzathine penicillin, the action is maintained for two days.

Indications

Procaine Penicillin G is indicated for the parenteral treatment of infections caused by organisms susceptible to penicillin. Cattle & Calves: For the treatment of shipping fever syndrome, wound infections, navel infections, foot rot, bacterial infections associated with pneumonia, as well as for bronchitis and tracheitis when caused by or associated with penicillin susceptible organisms.

Administration

Inject deep into the muscle every 24 hours. Continue treatment for 1-2 days after symptoms disappear. If no improvement is noted within 36-48 hours re-evaluate the diagnosis. Mild soreness may result following subcutaneous administration. This suspension should never be administered intravenously.

Precautions

Exceeding the recommended doses may result in antibiotic residues beyond the withdrawal period. Animals that have received penicillin G should be closely monitored for at least half an hour. It is recommended to stop the product whenever an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity is discovered.

As with all antibiotic preparations, the use of this drug can lead to the proliferation of unlikely organisms, including fungi. In such cases, consult a veterinarian. It is advisable to avoid the administration of penicillin in combination with tetracyclines, as some bacterial drugs may interfere with the bacteriostatic action of tetracyclines.
